This exfoliating salt soap helps to make dry or rough skin very, very smooth, while the super rich oils and butters soak in. All of our soaps are superfatted, which means a percentage of the oils are left with all of their natural benefits and properties for your skin to love!

As with all bodygoodies soaps, this bar has a very organic, earthy, rawness about it.

Dead Sea Salt: salts from the Dead Sea have been legendary for centuries for their therapeutic and beautifying properties on the skin. Nothing like regular sea salt, Dead Sea salts are comprised of a wide variety of minerals which are present in a high concentration. Whereas regular sea salts is made up of over 90% sodium, salt from the Dead Sea is only about 10% sodium and the rest is made of minerals which are essential for the proper function and health of skin. Such minerals include Magnesium, Potassium, Bromine and Calcium to name a few.

Unlike regular salt, Dead Sea salt is not edible and tastes a bit bitter, primarily because of the low sodium content and the high presence of other minerals. This fact, however, gives it the therapeutic properties that have been raved about for centuries. The minerals present in the salt are also naturally present within skin cells but commonly get depleted, which can cause severe dryness, wrinkle development and dull looking skin. When Dead Sea bath salts or products made with minerals extracted from the salt are used, they feed those essential minerals back into the skin cells, improving the overall health and vitality of the skin.

Icelandic Moss Powder: the Iceland moss is used to treat topical problems affecting the skin and is excellent for dealing with skin disorders such as eczema, psoriasis and impetigo. These calming and nourishing properties produce an anti-inflammatory effect and leave your skin feeling well hydrated. Icelandic moss is high in calcium and potassium. Its antimicrobial properties help to kill or inhibit the growth of fungi, bacteria and viruses.

Atlantic Kelp: is rich in compounds that have specific use in the cosmetic industry, such as polygalactosides, fucose polymers and ursolic acid. These compounds contain abundant non-essential and essential amino acids such as proline, glycine and lycine—all of which are also found in the elastic fibers of the skin—and maintain and improve skin elasticity by improving hydration. This unique seaweed grows exclusively on the North Atlantic coast of North America and Europe and is highly valued as a detoxifier and blood purifier. Its anti-inflammatory properties also benefit blemishes of the skin.

All of our soaps are created using the cold process method. Because of the high glycerin content created in the process, please keep your soap in a well drained area to be sure it doesn't "melt" away! :)

clays and botanicals: bodygoodies uses only the very best quality clays and botanicals sourced from all over the world. In some of our soaps you will find a variety of clays and botanicals known to be beneficial to skin such as rhassoul clay, french green clay, rooibos tea, australian pink clay, calendula, australian black clay...etc.

muds: we know skin, and we know mud is good for it. we dont mind a little mud while we get clean and we dont think you will either. we use only the finest spa quality, raw muds available.

essential oils: all bodygoodies soaps are made with top shelf essential oils. Heidi has one heck of a nose and sniffs out the best essentials she can find. We use a variety of essentials in our soaps and leave the blending up to heidi.

exfoliants: sometimes you want a little, sometimes you want a lot. bodygoodies has a variety of exfoliating soaps with different scrubbing potential. From our super gritty sand and pumice, to our middle of the road rough dead sea salt and ground coffee, to our mildly exfoliating clays and muds. We are sure you will find the right exfoliant for you.

colorants: bodygoodies does not use any micas, FD&C, or any sort of manufactured dye colorants to get our beautiful aesthetics. All colors are naturally occuring from the beneficial ingredients used, such as clays, muds, or botanicals.

I have had dry skin forever and cannot believe what an improvement this bar has done to my skin. And i use the sand salt for my feet - I literally take 2 showers a night - using both soaps. They are the best thing that has happened to my skin. I use another for my face - it's is amazing what this soap does to your skin - and the mojo???? I can't get enough of that either. Keep at it Heidi - you'll be selling to the stars real soon - Carol R

This is the bar that made me fall in love with bodygoodies. I always keep a backup in stock just in case. The salt acts like such a great exfoliant, and my skin is always so happy after using this soap. It is incredibly moisturizing too. Oh, and oh course like all of the soaps the scent is so clean and fresh!
